Owner of Pennmark Auto Group, with dealerships in the Southeastern
Pennsylvania/Deleware region

What got you into the
auto retail business in the
first place?
My partner and I had just sold our real estate portfolio and were looking for an investment opportunity. We purchased a Wilmington, Delaware dealership that included Mercedes, Porsche, and Audi.
When did you buy your
first dealership?
November, 1994.
When did you first get
involved with AIADA and why?
I am not sure of the exact
date, but it was at least
10 years ago. I felt
it was an important organization
as a voice for the international
name plate dealers in Washington. As
I recall, the Luxury Tax
was the big item then and
free trade issues were constantly
the topic of discussion on
the political scene.
Any advice for aspiring
auto dealers?
My only advice would be that
they follow their dream,
it is an exciting and rewarding
business which provides endless
opportunities for those who
are up to the challenge.
How are you active in
the community?
I am actively involved
in several charitable organizations;
especially with the March
of Dimes in Southeastern
Pennsylvania.
Who was the biggest influence
in your career?
Probably my father who taught
me that commitment and hard
work can move mountains.
What is the best part
of your job?
Being involved in helping
our employees grow in their
jobs and in their lives.
It is very rewarding to see
the positive effect that
our business has on the lives
of our employees and their
families.
